SCHEDULE
WEEK OF APRIL 20: ARRIVAL IN PHOENIX
We’ll be in town the week prior and excited to spend time with all others who are too. If you have a few extra days and want to make the most of your trip, we recommend: being awed by the Grand Canyon (~3.5hr drive from Phoenix), a hike up Mt. Lemmon (Tucson area) or Camelback (Phoenix area), stopping to smell the roses at the Tucson Botanical Gardens, taking in the red rocks of Sedona (~2hr drive from Phoenix), or popping down for a surprise visit to Al’s parents in Rio Rico.
THURSDAY APRIL 24: WELCOME PICNIC
Location: We’re at the pavilion at 5075 Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85250, map pictured left and link to larger map here. We will be posted up at Ramada South (circled in yellow). Nearest parking lot is off Chaparral Road (also circled in yellow) with second closest parking lot circle in orange (off of Jackrabbit Road). Parking lots are small so we encourage carpooling and Uber/Lyft/Waymo if possible!
Chaparral Park is where Fritz first learned how to swing on the swings, slide on the slides, and once road his bike straight into a duck pond. We’ll host a casual picnic for friends and family filled with delicious grilled food, competitive field games and all the fun! A playground will be nearby for the little ones to burn off some steam.
Time: 6pm-8pm
Food: Carne Asada, Veggie fajitas, and more!
Attire/Activities: Casual, come ready to drink, eat, and play games! Fritz will be in a t-shirt almost certanily. For the more competitive amongst you, we’ll have a few spike ball nets setup, polish horseshoes, and other games to prove your athletic prowess.
Seating: There will be a few picnic benches and we’ll have some blankets laid out, but feel free to bring your own blankets and/or chairs if you want ‘em or need ‘em!
